Burnley completed the signing of Reo Hatate from Celtic in the final hours of the window. The club announced the fee as undisclosed; Football Insider reported £6.5m plus add-ons, while other outlets put the full package closer to £10m with add-ons included. The 28-year-old has signed a three-year contract.

Hatate leaves Glasgow after more than 190 appearances and 33 goals, five league titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups. He has 11 caps for Japan. "This is a great move for me," he said. "It's my first time playing in England and it's a fantastic club to be joining. I'm hoping to bring my experience and knowledge to the dressing room."

Two more deals landed the same night. Igor Julio arrives from Brighton for a fee reported as £3m — a centre-back who can also cover the left, and a timely one with Bashir Humphreys facing a spell on the sidelines. Largie Ramazani, 25, joins from Leeds United on a season-long loan with an obligation to make the move permanent; the Belgian winger spent last season on loan at Valencia and was part of the Leeds side that beat Burnley to the 2024/25 title.

For Nicky Hayen, appointed in July, the deadline business adds to Anel Ahmedhodžić's arrival from Feyenoord last month. Joe Worrall left for Wrexham on the same day.
